There are many positive points for Playing Through the Blues. The primary one comes from its focus on actual playing, and less time on theories. It cuts right to the chase and lets novices begin to play almost immediately. The second one comes from its down-to-earth approach. It recognizes that a lot of practice is needed to become great, and it structures its lessons to fit a busy person’s schedule nicely. This enables practice sessions without sacrificing other important activities. Finally, it does not require a person to learn sheet music. And while that isn’t bad, the system focuses heavily on tab notations, which is the most familiar to guitar players. The learning is further reinforced by excellent video clips done at slow and fast speeds – the very thing needed for accurate practice.
At the end of this Playing Through the Blues review, it can easily be said that the whole system works but only for those who are already familiar with the guitar. It is definitely not for the extremely novice players. But given that, the entire system and its home site is an excellent platform for learning blues music. The author has even allowed access to lifetime updates, so a guitarist would have access to new examples and musical pieces. So given the fact that there are very few complete resources on the internet for playing blues, this package may simply be too good to pass up for any serious blues fan.
